The core of our community revolves around Shabbat and the holidays.
Our Kabbalat Shabbat, or Friday evening services, begin at 6:30 pm. We sing and pray, learn and meditate, and follow services with a light kiddush.

During the summer once each month, join us for Under the Bridge! Sing along with incredible musicians for Kabbalat Shabbat and then enjoy your own picnic dinner at our monthly summertime community celebration of Shabbat in view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Challah and grape juice will be provided. Let us know that you’re coming – RSVP to our Facebook event page! Under the Bridge is sponsored in September by the Donald Wolfson and Jane Meyer, in honor of their son Alexander becoming a bar mitzvah on Saturday, September 10.

On Shabbat mornings, we prepare for tefila (prayer) by studying selections from Tola’at Ya’akov, a collection of mystical teachings about the prayer service. Rabbi Wax, who is working on a translation of this text, leads the class, which is held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Shabbat morning services begin at 10:00 and last until 12:15 PM.  Following services, all are again welcome to a kiddush.
